The Nazis set up a secret base on the moon in 1945 where they hide out and plan to return to power in 2018.
In 1945, Nazi's left Earth and set up a base on the Dark Side of the Moon. There, they have established a 4th Reich and are building a massive weapon which they plan to use to subjugate Earth. After a planned flight to the moon, a US astronaut is captured and interrogated. When they discover that his cell phone provides the energy/technology necessary to power their death ray, they send and emissary back to Earth to collect more. Once there, the invasion begins...
There's not much more you need to know to enjoy this film. Iron Sky is not only original, it's funny, entertaining and well written. Truthfully it's a bit campy and may not be for everyone, but It's like independence day. Only funnier. And there's Nazis. Also, Iron Sky looks absolutely impressive and their art direction/ cinematography is crazy. If nothing else, you'll have to acknowledge the visuals.
