In 1989, a breakthrough in advanced parasitic research on Cuttyhunk Island, gave scientists a jump in human evolution. But, something in the experiment went horribly wrong and the island mysteriously lost three quarters of its population. Now, a new strain of parasite has emerged, and threatens the island once again.

Working on what they call "The Human Growth Project" They aim to use parasites to surpass our own genetic limitations. Their miscalculation was that parasites need to feed and they destroy a body from inside.
After a body is found it is believed that the parasites are still alive and are re-infecting people. Jamie who used to live on the island, returns with a group of friends to claim an inheritance. Being back on the island, she begins to uncover seemingly repressed memories. In the meanwhile, Justin, the weakest of the group gets infected with a parasite.
Justin immediately becomes more confident and powerful after getting his superpowers (Take that Chronicle!)
I've been accused of giving too much detail, and writing more at this point would spoil it. It's a decent B-Movie, but nothing to write home about. Growth is not a film that would or should get a theatrical release, but it is better than something you'd see on the SyFy network.
