John Tucker Must Die - 2006

Three ex-girlfriends of a serial cheater set up their former lover to fall for the new girl in town so they can watch him get his heart broken.

This movie, despite it's title. Despite it's content. Despite being a "romantic comedy." Despite co-starring Ashanti, is actually pretty funny.


Jesse Metcalf, former heartthrob, current douche, plays John Tucker, a "king of the jocks" popular guy who as all popular guys do, ends up dating a few women at the same time.

Yes. John Tucker gets down with jungle fever.

So after the girls find out he's dating them at the same time, they set out to destroy him. Only problem, he's john tucker, THE most awesome dude at school.

As the ladies set their plans in motion The funniest moments of this flick begin to take shape. Apparently this Dude is made of Teflon because nothing sticks. They eventually get him to fall for a new girl who's goal is to break his heart. Surprisingly, this works.

You wouldn't fall for her? 

But because he is John Tucker, I'd say he bounces back pretty quickly:

Overall, it's another high school movie, meaning it will have both highs and lows, but minus Ashanti, it isn't all that bad.

The BBC

BBC programs have been some of the better produced and higher quality shows in existence. Foreign entertainment in general, may be an acquired taste for some, but believe me when I tell you that there is some really good stuff overseas.

American Television has a way of stealing the works from other countries. Knowing that, I figure maybe you'll like the originals better. To that end, I've put together a small list of a few BBC shows that I've really enjoyed. Idk whether or not you're interested in things made outside of the States, but you should give these shows a chance.

Zombie Strippers - 2008

Two of my favorite things, nearly ruined forever.

In the not too distant future a secret government re-animation chemo-virus gets released into conservative Sartre, Nebraska and lands in an underground strip club. As the virus begins to spread, turning the strippers into "Super Zombie Strippers" the girls struggle with whether or not to conform to the new "fad" even if it means there's no turning back. - IMDB 

I remember sitting down to watch this flick..and I remember quickly skipping through it, because it was flat out terrible. I mean, watching Mind of Mencia followed by Dane Cook's Tourgasm, on repeat, may have been more entertaining. I couldn't bring myself to waste life on this movie. Maybe with friends and a lot of liquor this could be enjoyable? We'll see...I think I'll need a lot of liquor.

Moving on, but unfortunately related, this movie also stars Robert Englund.  I'm developing a theory: Robert Englund must owe someone some money. Either that or he has an expensive habit. Why else would he lend himself to this bullshit? Someone is either holding his family hostage, or they own a good amount of dirt on him. Or maybe he's lost his mind through the 9 Elm Street movies. I just can't see how anyone could read this script and think it was worth filming. I just can't figure it out. This just goes to show that there are two powerful motivators in Hollywood. Pussy and Money. (Three if you count cocaine.)

Fuck this! Let's kill the producer.

If you're that hard up for strippers, or zombies, check it out. But don't say that I didn't warn you.

Blu-Ray/DVD? Blu-ray offers crystal clear suckage. (I guess I mean that literally and figuratively.) Still doesn't mean you should buy this flick.

Spartacus Motion Comic

This 4 part micro series details the history behind a few of the series more infamous characters: Arkadius, Crixus/Gargan twins,  Barca and Theocules.

Sigh. Another day, another motion comic. This time, Spartacus gets the animated treatment. I think the series is awesome and one of the better ones I've seen. however it doesn't need a motion comic. But of all created, I think the best story was that of Barca. But only because he didn't get a great amount of screen time during the series. I didn't really care much for the other stories.

You can check them out for yourselves here. But don't say I didn't warn you about it's boringness.

Overall, Spartacus The Motion Comic bored me. Words can't express how happy I was that these episodes were so short.

Blu-ray/DVD? Neither. Unless this comes in the box set our collector's edition? It is not worth it.

Troll Hunter - 2011

A group of students investigates a series of mysterious bear killings, but learns that there are much more dangerous things going on. They start to follow a mysterious hunter, learning that he is actually a troll hunter.

In Norway, A troll hunter works in secret with the cooperation of the government to hunt and eliminate wild trolls. In order to keep people in the dark, the attacks are disguised as bear attacks and other wild animals.
After many years, he is tired of his job and he allows a young crew to film him as he goes on his last hunt.

Along the way they learn about the existence of trolls and the government conspiracy to cover it up. [Idk if this has a place here, but The trolls can smell Christians. No idea where they were trying to go with that, but I found it funny. - Ed.] By the end of the film, there's a tongue n cheek admission, that trolls do in fact exist, but of course the overall truth is silenced.

You know something, Troll Hunter isn't that good. Yes it starts slow, yes it is humorous and yes the action does pick up, but it bored me. I don't know what to make of this film. I fell asleep twice before I finally got through the whole thing and when I did, I didn't feel like I missed much of anything.

Out of 10? 6.5

I don't get the hype behind the film.
