The supervillain Megamind finally defeats his nemesis, the superhero Metro Man. But without a hero, he loses all purpose and must find new meaning to his life.
Like a fat kid avoids exercise, I avoided Megamind for as long as I possibly could. "There's no way this movie is worth my time. It stars Will Farrell." It turns out that in the end, it really wasn't a bad film. (It definitely helps to see this in HD/Blu-Ray)
As a genius super villain, Megamind always comes up on the losing side until one day he does the impossible and actually defeats the hero, Metroman. Now in complete command of the city, and having met all his desires, he easily bores and decides to clone megaman and create a hero to fight against. In the process, his creation threatens to destroy the city and Megamind becomes the new hero and protector of Metro City.

"Will Farrell sucks and evening he does sucks by association." That's my general stance on Will Farrell. He can do no good. But as rule #1 states: Every bad actor will eventually have at least one good movie to their credit. Megamind is his.
