The movie landscape has changed. No longer do we have the macho man shooting and kung-fuing people, sexing women and swearing like a sailor the whole time. We get movies about Kung-Fu Pandas, and pussified heroes, shitty versions of Bond and a general "family friendly" atmosphere. I'm not against a family atmosphere, movies can be broad and all encompassing. But the "protect the children" line  and the "let's not be offensive to anyone" is being used to wipe out all traces of our former masculinity.

Everything offends somebody. When does protecting children mean we should shun the action hero who kills the bad guys and sexes the ladies? Its really been few and far between for 1 man army movies (Taken, Rambo, Predator, Black Dynamite)




I know times, have changed, but why is everyone so sensitive? The America I grew up in was all about kicking ass and taking names, the America I reside in now is, "excuse me, is it okay if I inflict bodily harm?" and "we don't mean to offend you, here's some cash, please don't sue me." They say society is reflected in its arts and culture. if that's true, then within our movies and TV shows, we've become pussified.

No? Then tell me, how in the fuck does Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Paul Blart gain #1 spots at the box office? Why the fuck does a Vampire sparkle and why does that make you want to empty your wallets? and don't get me started on Madea. I mean, really?!  This shit is just beyond me. Who is going to see these flicks? What happened to America? When did we become so soft? Yes, I understand that the world has changed, but are we really paying $12+ to see singing chipmunks and emo vampires?

Lately, it seems the tide is turning. Slowly. As of last year, stupid shit is now getting killed at the studios, (ie another Robin Williams turd) dumb shit like "Furry Vengeance" are actually flopping as opposed to being #1.

Maybe salvation lies ahead, but the outlook is pretty bleak from what I've seen.

My remaining hope is that 2012 will bring entertainment of a better quality.
