Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers is a four episode motion comic from Marvel Knights Animation. It is based on the 2004 miniseries Loki by Robert Rodi and Esad Ribic.
This series exists to fill in the back story and give us the history between Thor and his brother Loki as told from Loki's point of view. This movie supposes that Thor was kind of an arrogant dick and Loki was basically a bullied kid, who rose to power and is blatantly abusing it and getting in over his head.
After defeating Thor in battle, Loki ascends to rule Asgard and imprisons him while he prepares for his execution. Loki finds out that he is destined to lose to Thor across all planes of existence. Upon that revelation, he does the logical thing and tries to save himself by reconciling with Thor. That effort proves too little too late as Thor breaks free and brings down the hammer. Literally.
Mercy. These. Nordic. Nuts.
The animation is crisp and moves fluidly and the dialogue is Old English. Like a Shakespearean play. Should one expect anything less? I mean, we are dealing with Gods after all.

I'm really not a fan of the idea of humanizing Loki. He is the trickster God. He is supposed to be malevolent, not conflicted. It is a risky move, but if you can stick with this, it pays off.
