In Italy, a woman becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms during her mission to discover what happened to her mother, who allegedly murdered three people during her own exorcism.
Sigh. What should have been a decent exorcism movie becomes "Touch 2012" and promptly falls apart. I went in there thinking that this would be somewhat like the other films of this genre but I left thinking that it is Hollywood, specifically the folks involved in this film that need an exorcism.
Isabella Rossi, (played by the foxy Fernanda Andrade of Brazil) is on a quest to find out the truth behind her mother's incarceration. She believes she was possessed during the time that she allegedly killed three people and treks to Rome (the capital of Catholicism) to find out the truth. It turns out, her mother is a woman possessed by multiple demons. Isabella convinces a few priests to perform an exorcism and save her mom. That happens and whether or not she's been successfully exercised is irrelevant because her possession has spread to one if the priests treating her. Did his eventual death exorcise that demon? Again, irrelevant because the possession leaked to another victim. This movie was handing out possessions like they were gifts from Oprah.

Pfft. I'm convinced that lady could hand out AIDS and the crowd would still react this way.
Going forward, I have no idea where this film series is headed. A sequel is coming, that much is clear, but is it demonic possession or demonic, plague? Things seems to be moving towards the latter.

Ranting randomly, I have a question: If God is real, and Satan is real, why does the Church disavow any and all things Demonic? If anything, they could reinforce their tenuous grip on their increasingly defecting flock by acknowledging it. Even exploiting it, would yield them, money and believers. Idk. Whatever man, I'm done ranting. That just makes no sense.
Anyway, Idk how to feel about this movie. On one hand, it delivered demonic possession as promised. (Demonic Possession. Out. The. Ass.) On the other, it seemed so concerned with it's sequel, that it didn't concentrate on being a coherent and concise movie.
Out of Ten? Five.

Explosions? of violence? Yes.
Nudity? Nope.
Blu-ray/DVD? Eh. I wouldn't go with either.
