Rachel Carlson, a successful novelist moves to a small Scottish village to move on with her life after the death of her son. Strange things start to happen when she is haunted by ghosts and real life terror.
The movie begins after a small child plays narcissus and drowns himself. Not only was there multiple things to grab on to, dude somehow ends up under the canoe! Rachel blames herself because not only did not make time to play with him when he asked she also left the gate open.
8 months later, she moves into a house on a remote seaside island to get away from it all and continue her work.
Demi Moore is a hot older woman....Hairline is receding though.
A psychic tells Rachel that her son is waiting for her. After that, it doesn't take long before freaky shit starts happening. At one point, she sees her dead son and he says "you should be with me" and tries to drown her. She wakes from that dream only to see her son again as he immediately tries to choke her out. She wakes from that dream, understandably freaked, and nothing's there.
Along the way, Rachel meets and eventually falls for a guy. After a while, it is revealed that that man has been dead for 7 years. Is he really dead? Just what the hell is going on? This is when the movie picks up, but it keeps the eerie supernatural vibe established throughout the film.
Demi sure loves her ghosts, doesn't she?
Stray Quotage:
"Mary, have you seen Angus McCulloch?"
"Umm, no. I haven't seen him in 7 years, and neither have you... because he's dead."
I chuckled.
Out of Ten? 6.5
Demi Moore returns to the silver screen in a decent movie with An All too confusing ending.
Violence? Light
Explosions? No
Nudity? No
