"Star Wars" fanatics take a cross-country trip to George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch so their dying friend can see a screening of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace before its release.
A group of friends decide to finally accomplish their 5th grade dream: A trip together to George Lucas' Skywalker ranch. As they have since drifted apart, they have reunited, and upon learning that one is dying from terminal cancer, they now plan to break in and steal the first print of Star Wars:Episode I.
Fanboys is a comedy that clearly appeals to Star Wars nerds, yet has enough broad appeal to reach a larger audience. Plus a ton of celebrity cameos push this film further than it might have gone otherwise.
