Date Night is about a boring New Jersey couple who decide to shake off their rust and have a night out together in NYC. In the process, they steal a dinner reservation and run afoul of mobsters, crooked cops, and a crooked District Attorney.
The situation(s) that the Fosters get into during their night out are ridiculous, but as the night wares on, the action and the comedy pick up. The movie itself picks up after the couple visits a shirt-less Mark Wahlberg and asks for his assistance.

I actually enjoyed Date Night. After watching the trailers, I wrote this movie off as "mediocre funny." Admittedly, I didn't think Tina Fey and Steve Carrell could be funny together, (I don't know why. They are essentially the same person.) but they pulled it off. There are a few scenes where the movie the movie drags, -in particular, the car chase scene- But the performances of everyone involved in those scenes keep the movie level.Overall, the flick is actually well written and both the chemistry and comedic timings are sharp. Also, look out for G4's "It Girl" Olivia Munn in another cameo, as the hostess of a glitzy restaurant.
I say watch it with friends, or even better, watch it on an actual date night. But remember, don't go to Central Park alone at night and don't steal dinner reservations.
Violence? Mild
Explosions? Nope.
Nudity? Nope. But a running gag involves Mark Wahlberg's character and his need for a shirt.
