I enjoyed this flick.
What's it about? well, at its core, its about a cut Asian high-school girl who kicks people in the face. I'm clearly oversimplifying, but there isn't really much more to it than that. The movie is just fight scene after fight scene and each one outdoes the previous. She spends the movie trying to impress her teacher with her strength and gets captured. Shit gets real when her teacher gets involved to rescue her.
The movie went to the Ong Bak school of photography, as they slow down and repeat some of the flashier moves for emphasis. It slows down the pace a bit, and in some scenes it looks like they are still practicing their choreography. The Kung-Fu Replay is not a bad thing entirely. It adds an extra layer for martial arts fans as you can see how the moves are done, and you can see that these guys kicked and punched each other for real in some shots.
I recommend this flick for fight fans. The movie is short but it gets to the point quickly. The fights are solid, the soundtrack is dope and the action is non-stop.
Violence? Oh yeah. Sweet kung-fu violence.
Explosions? If by that you mean kicks to the head and broken bodies? Then Fuck Yeah
Nudity? Nope, but if it makes you feel any better, the women fight in skirts and schoolgirl outfits.
